FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?
You can get in contact with me via my contact form, email, or my Facebook page (the link is at the bottom of this page). Once we've worked out the details of your shoot, I will send over a proposal with a contract and deposit form which are completed online. I require a deposit and contract to hold any date - your session does not go on my calendar until I've received both a signed contract and deposit. My schedule varies, but I almost always aim to shoot in the very early morning or the late afternoon/early evening, as that's when the lighting will be best for your shoot. Make sure to contact me with as much notice as possible (especially if you need a weekend date) as I am frequently booked solid 1-2 weeks out.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY SHOOT?
To have fun! I try to keep my sessions as lighthearted and comfortable as possible. If you're scheduling a family, maternity, engagement, or milestone shoot, it will take place outdoors and most likely within the few hours before sunset since that is when the light is best. Before your shoot we will discuss locations and I will answer any questions you have about what to wear or bring to your session. During the shoot, we will walk around whatever location we've decided on and I will ask you to interact with your family, and also pose you for some more traditional family photos.
Please be on time to your session - if you are late, it will cut into your session time and you may not receive as many images as are in your package. If you are more than thirty minutes late, I will consider the session cancelled - your deposit will be forfeited and you will need to schedule another session date.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Your photos will look best if you're comfortable and relaxed! If your outfit isn't something you would ever wear normally or if you don't feel confident in it, trust me, it will show! Try not to be too matchy with the rest of your group. Staying in the same color family, or picking a few colors that compliment each other will look great. Patterns are okay, as long as they're not too loud and don't clash with the rest of your group's outfits. Pay attention to accessories and shoes. Leave hair ties at home or in your pocket. Make sure to bring wipes for children's faces and hands in case they get dirty during the shoot.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING POLICY?
I understand that plans change and emergencies happen, so if you need to reschedule or cancel your shoot, please give me as much notice as possible and I will always try my hardest to work with you. My policy allows for one rescheduling to occur before a new deposit is required. If you cancel a shoot with more than two weeks notice, I will return your deposit, minus a 25% booking fee. If you need to cancel a shoot less than two weeks out, your deposit will be forfeit.
HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL?
I primarily shoot in the Hollywood FL Area, but I travel to Miami and Palm Beach counties for a small travel fee.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR MY NEWBORN SHOOT?
In order to get that soft, sleepy newborn shoot, we need to schedule newborn shoots within the first two weeks of your baby's arrival. If you're expecting, be sure to get in touch with me before your baby's expected birth so I can be "on call" for your newborn shoot. Due to my busy schedule and the time sensitivity of newborn shoots, I cannot guarantee availability if you schedule a session after your baby's arrival - the best time to book a session is BEFORE you deliver. If for whatever reason you cannot schedule a shoot within the first two weeks, there is a $100 surcharge to attempt posed newborn photos during weeks 3 and 4. After that, I suggest scheduling a lifestyle newborn session.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY SHOOT?
That's up to you! I'm happy to shoot you doing things you love, so feel free to bring your favorite books, your child's favorite toys, bubbles, flower crowns, or whatever you like. I allow up to two outfit changes for some types of shoots, just make sure there is somewhere to change during your session and keep in mind that changing time will cut into your session time which means less shooting time. I have a wide assortment of newborn props and backdrops, but if you have something particular in mind, go ahead and bring it. I can always make it work.
WHEN WILL I SEE MY IMAGES?
I try to post at least one sneak peek within a few days of your shoot. After that, it takes me anywhere from 1-3 weeks to edit the entire session.
HOW MANY IMAGES CAN I EXPECT TO RECEIVE?
Check out my pricing page to see how many images your package comes with. Extra digitals are available a la carte.
WHERE SHOULD I PRINT MY PHOTOS?
While many of my packages come with a print release, I always recommend ordering prints through me. The quality of professional prints cannot be duplicated at consumer photo printing establishments. Consumer photo labs are cheaper because they frequently alter the appearance of images, making them appear over saturated, ruining skin tones and colors, and not displaying your beautiful photos at their best. All of my prints come from an excellent professional lab and the color of the prints are always crystal clear and perfectly matched.
